I have seen you through all your
trials and tribulations, through all the pains in your life,
I have seen you smiling in their
faces, while going through the strife.
You kept me hidden from envious
eyes and made me a part of your dreams.
You treasured me all through the
years and walked me beside the streams.
Meandering on a long walk home and
never breaking stride,
I watched your sad face as you
roamed through lanes both narrow and wide.
You kept me sheltered, clean and
warm
And never let me come to any harm.
I treasure your beautiful care of
me
And know we will many more years to
see.
So take care of me and I will keep
you dry.
(Dedicated to my 1972 bell bottom
pants, bought with my first big prize at Harrah’s casino in Reno)
